Default So i decided to quit smoking weed, what else is there to do?

Hmm so i am 17 years old and ive been smoking weed since the 2nd semester of 8th grade. From 9th grade i smoked almost every day. I recently decided to stop smoking weed, for i am in college now and felt it robbed me of motivation to study, volunteer, etc. I felt the need to stop smoking as i am becoming an adult and feel like i might not be able to become very successful if i did not stop my habit, it also costs me money, although not much since weed is so cheap now ( i could get an eighth of really good weed for like $35) and i would always worry about having weed when i was running low. I did not want to become a slave to this drug ( for those of you that say weed isnt a drug, look up the definition of drugs ). I have always been really good at school, even though i rarely studied and almost always smoked weed and went to school high ( i remember i used to smoke almost every day in the morning before school, i have always gotten good grades, i want to become an anesthesiologist when i am older or some kind of scientist as I have always been interested in and done very well in math and science, i havent smoked in 2 days, i heard the first 3 days of quitting are the hardest, although i have not had much difficulty quitting once i decided i had to, i mean i wanted to smoke sometimes but just didnt. I was wondering what other people did instead of smoking weed? i do have a ps3 and play that alot, and i do work out as i am taking a weight training class in college ( basicly like a gym, go in, work out, nd leave ) but what else is there to do? i have a long board ( even though its 24" lol ) and money as i have a job ( though i only work 1 day a week haha and make like 100 bucks every paycheck ( i didnt want to work too much as i wanted time to study and dont really need money ) i was wondering what people did instead of smoking weed?

Were you spending that much time smoking weed? How Much? A lot of people have other hobbies they do whilst smoking weed.

Yes it generally or only usually gets to that stage and becomes so time consuming when addiction sets in which is the type of smoker that we are basically here to help if they so choose, but just like with all the other vices in the world from gambling to alcohol you get all sort of users many for whom these things may not necessarily be a problem and one would never want to generalise that the users of any particular thing will all behave in any particular way, buy like I say you do get them with many things not just pot and those are the people we are here to try and help.

As to what to do to be honest that is something that only the former user can decide for themselves it has to be things that they themselves will genuinely enjoy doing, it isn’t always necessarily obvious and it can take both time and thought to rediscover your old interests or even to discover some new ones and you do have to make a real effort but you do get there in the end I promise, start by having a good think about the sort of things that you think may interest the new you and see what you can come up with, please feel free to share them if you so choose.

Take care and please keep us posted.

    All the best,
