    Unhappy Physically addicted

    hey guys,
ive never used a forum before but everyone here seems to be really helpful and insightful.

ive been smoking pretty heavy for about 4 years now and decided i need to at least stop for a while.
Mentaly, i can deal with the withdrawals, if i don't want it, ill make sure i wont get it.

But physically im struggling. i cant sleep, when i do get to sleep, i wake up within half an hour covered head to toe in sweat with the worst dreams. nightmares would be putting it lightly.
when awake/at work im shaking with sweaty palms and feet.
i dont want to replace the addiction with something else like sleeping pills or alcohol or i feel ill just become addicted to replacement(although i am smoking alot more cigarets)
i was just wondering if anyone could give me some helpful tips or advice on how to manage this a little easier.
The lack of sleep is effecting my work and mood. The only reason i would cave and have bong or 2 is just so i can get some rest and not have a sweat drenched bed. (im quite embarrassed by this)

any advice would be much appreciated.
    thank you Xx

    Default herbal help?

Hi Jordy, I've never used a forum before either. I hope this posts! I'm a long term pot addict planning to quit Monday. I have bought an arsonal of herbal stuff to help with the physical symptoms. (I suffer heaps phsically, mentally and emotionally when i don't smoke,bummer...) Something that may help you with sleeping is valerian root. (Brewed as a tea before bed.) I won't recommend it as I've not used it yet but it seems pretty widely recommended for pot withdrawals.
Maybe at work you could try drinking green tea? Not sure if it would help with your shakes or not but it contains Theamine- in researching for my own quit day theamine comes up time and again as a real help for pot withdrawal. Apparently is also available in capsule form too.
These two suggestions aren't addictive, though I've no idea if they will help as I'm yet to go through it myself...best of luck mate!

The valerian root is pretty powerful plant, try to find a non-drowsy extract as it WILL make you drowsy!
