Default Trying to quit weed, again.

I have been smoking weed for over 30 years. I went a year and a half without it but decided to just smoke one more. That was about 6 months ago. Now its a full out addiction again. Today marks my third day dry and I have to admit, I'm really fighting the urge to just go buy a bag. What a tough habit to break, I went back to school two years ago and I see the negative effects that smoking have for me, but I still want to do it anyway. Coming up on 50 years old I think its time to grow up, and get serious about life but DAMN..I like to get high so its tough!!! Just saying!!!!

Thanks Robin, it really is a struggle. Day four today, I have been playing with the idea of getting a bag on and off today. The desire to stop is what prevented me from giving in and just smoking and tuning out. I find myself very fatigued, irritable, and depressed as well. After reading some other posts it seems that I am not alone with these thoughts and feelings. I have found some hope and inspiration from reading bosshogs story. Itsn good to know that this can be defeated and there is "the other side to this"

Sadly I am back from "giving in" so much for staying strong ...I am dissapointed in myself because I almost made it 5 days...when this is gone, I'll start back up on day one...sigh!

day one of quitting. I must have bought 3 bags or so in the past 2 weeks and flushed them down the toilet to try to quit and then gotten more. I am so sicl of myself like this! I expect a really hard couple of weeks. I hope I can stick to it this time. I feel so weak in my lungs when I smoke and I am 20 lbs heavier than I should be from munchies and lack of energy to exercise. I want more than this for my life!!! I know of a few ex stoners who are famous musicians and even looking at theri photos of when they used to be high to their sober years I can see how much brighter they look sober. I want to start exercising and eating better and do yoga again. I want to not have to smoke a 1/4 oz of weeed every day to get through my life. I have been smoking for more than 2 decades! I ahve had short stops in that time. Longest quit ever was about 10 months and honestl that was 10 years ago. In the last few yrs a week has been my longest quit. So this is a BIG deal in my life. Really want sobriety now. what a tough journey this is SO hard. I can do it though.
