Default Addicted to Weed, Life Stuck in Boring Rut, Don't know what to do Without It

    Hello,
I am 18 years old and have smoked weed everyday for 4 years. When first starting to smoke, I wasn't all that into it, but my friends got me to try it. Well, fast forward a few years and I'm now smoking all day everyday, and where that path started, I have NO IDEA! Well all those guys are still are great friends but don't smoke weed, while I now tend to hang out with people who just party and smoke. I really want to stop, and have wanted to for the last year but every day I still end up hitting the bong. Sorta like today.. Im from california and live in the hills in a small town of about 2000 people and I have an abundant ammount of weed, as well as growing it, making hash, ect. I need help quiting and would love some tips from you! Im a smart guy, I graduated highschool early and am going into my 2nd semester of college yet when im high I cant show my true knowledgeable personality and have stupid pointless conversations with everyone. Just so I can try and fill in the silence, I guess. I have a hard time talking to girls because im always high and dont know how to introduce myself or talk to them. So that has lead to me not really meeting any new girls the last 2 years, and prior to that I had a lot of girls as friends, and more. I am not a horrible looking guy either but my self esteem is rock bottom and I have felt depressed for a long time now. Help me out if you can find some extra time. We can work on quitting together, I need some assistance because I try every day to quit, but I just can't get myself to stop. Im ready to quit.

You have to choose to and remember you are retraining your brain. Every edge should lead to "thats not the me I want to be." Sounds lame, but worked for me. Question, you're growing and against smoking personally? Did I get that right? Honest question, do you feel morally rong for this? Ive always wondered about this....

hey thanks for the response, and no I do not feel wrong for doing it. I am not in any way against smoking or using marijuana, and I do know how beneficial it can be. Just in excess it can cause problems, which I have seen myself. I quit completely for a week and am now smoking again but only during the night time, and I feel much better about myself and life in itself. thanks
