Going to psychiatrist, what should i ask

Im going to see a psychiatrist about issues relating to my cannabis withdrawal. I dont want to tell him its from smoking so what should i tell him? I get bad anxiety and cannot sleep, should i just say that?

Personally and maybe I am being a little off the wall or whatever but I would just tell the truth, if you are going there for issues relating to your cannabis use then I personally don’t really see the point in going to see them unless you tell them what your problem actually is, if you are going to see them because of some other stuff then you should tell them about that, but if it’s cannabis then why not say so? Otherwise how can they help?

No medical professional will care or judge you if you tell them the truth. I never lie to doctors about drug use because they need to know the truth in order to best help you. They are not going to tell on you so just be honest. You will not get the cops called on you if that is what you think.

the reson i dont want to tell them is because i called one place and i said it was related to weed and they where like "our doctor does not treat substance abuse" and then they denied me a visit. So i want to just tell him i have anxiety and the symptoms without letting him know its related to a drug.

Call another place or go to a health food store. They will sell you things that will relieve your withdrawal symptoms.

If weed really is your problem, that doctor is not right for you. Try finding a doctor who treats both issues or you are pretty much going to waste your money.

Yeah I must admit I don’t know what they can do for weed withdrawal, that’s kind of just a matter of time, if you have other issues to discuss that relate to why you are taking drugs then fair enough, maybe it can depend on your situation as to whether you need to see that sort of specialist.
