    Default Marijuana Withdrawal Brain Fog

I have only smoked for a about a year and I'd say it was daily for a good 5-6 months. I really regret it obviously why I'm sitting on this forum. I've been off pot for about 30 odd days and I seem to have a brain fog. I'm hoping this isn't permanent because it's really getting to me. If anybody has had any similar experience let me know because I've done my research and most of the studies on marijuana are inconclusive and get me no where.

    Hi and welcome,

I know what you mean when it comes to studies on marijuana for every one that says one thing you will often find one that says the exact opposite and I think the problem may often be that the people who are conducting the study have already decided what they want the finding to be and are perhaps manipulating the study so that the results deliver the conclusion they want, and I suspect this may be true for both the pro and the anti on some occasions at least, but hey that goes for almost every area of science not just this area. I personally think all you can do is set aside your pre judgement and acknowledge the fact that it can affect everybody differently and look at the effect it is having on the individual. I have heard people report experiencing brain fog when they have quit as well as all kinds of other weird symptoms and it seems for some this can just be a perfectly normal part of quitting, there is quite a lot going on neurologically when you quit the drug and it can mess the natural chemistry of your brain about a bit, perhaps it is anxiety or depression related as both these conditions which can in themselves be a withdrawal symptom, can sometimes cause this effect, if you give it another few weeks I think there is every chance it will clear as anything withdrawal related always does, but if it doesn’t or you are still concerned then you may want to consult your doctor.

Take care and please keep us posted.

    All the best,
