Vacation

My family is going on vacation at the end of September. It's a 6 hour car ride away. I wanted to fly but they said there's no one to pick me up at the airport there or drop me off here (they'll already be gone). So I have to sit in a car with 4 other people. They know what's wrong with me and they said 'take a pill'.

As soon as I read that you wanted to take a flight, my stomach got a knot in it. Crowded, enclosed places like airplanes, elevators, arenas....instant anxiety for me. I give you so much credit that you would be better on a plane with all those strangers than in the car with 6 people....but we all have different triggers, don't we?

I'm sorry you were treated so insensitively and told to "take a pill." That wasn't very nice.

If you have to endure this, I'd take an Ipod and plug your earphones in. In this way you can remain in your own world listening to music for the whole journey and it's not such an unusual thing to do.
