What is the best way to help someone addicted to Meth?

It is no surprise that drugs can take over and ruin many lives. Not just the person suffering from the addiction, but the family as well. I have a cousin that is hooked on Meth. He pops up from time to time, but no one knows where he goes. He is usually very angry and sometimes violent. Everytime they try to get him help in a rehab, he leaves again. Is there a way to help someone like this who seems like they really do not want help?

That sounds like quite a problem, especially since it does not sound like they are ready to accept help. Without that desire to want to be free from the addiction, I honestly don't know if rehab can help. I am so very sorry to hear this as I am sure the burden and stress everyone must be dealing with. I hope your cousin will one day want to beat this addiction.

Bless, sorry to hear,,,From my experience of much time in recovery community,,,people do have to WANT to stop using. That seems to be his problem,,,,,and it's a rough one,,,Trust me,

Again, he's hiding some pain,,,,obviously u care,,,Do u know of a childhood trauma he has had??? that is most likely what he is medicating,,,,,He may trust u to talk,,,,(but don't let him fool u into trying his 'wonderful' stuff) It is really an evil substanc that TURNS on u.

Do what u can,,,,,,he should know at least one person CARES,,,but I would NOT be around him if he is using,,,,I mean don't hang around his house or anything,,,,,

It might take a long time til he wants to stop.....If he is angry and violent, he may end up in jail,,,,that could be actually good for him.....Get sober in jail, have time to think,,,and even have to deal with parole and drug testing.

How old is he?
