With all the known possible preservatives that might be in your food, do you read the label before you make your purchases? Are there any ingredients you are on the look out for? Which preservatives would you least like to see in the food you buy?

I do read the labels occasionally, but mostly I try to avoid. I can't afford the super-healthy organic things that are charged higher than 'regular' food. You can give me the artificial flavoring and all the preservatives if it's the cheapest out there.
Unfortunately, I do not have much time when shopping, but I do try to read the labels on the cereals and snacks for the family. It is interesting to see what pops up on the ingredient label especially when the box reads how healthy something is supposed to be.
I never do. I think I look at the pictures on the cereal box to decide if I'll like it (I don't eat much sugar) but that's about it. So far 'it ain't broke' so I'm not looking for more things to worry about.
I always do although, hand on heart, I don't always understand what the additives are and sometimes perfectly innocuous things have awful sounding names! I sometimes have to look them up.
So high fructose corn syrup is pretty much the same as sugar if not worse right?
